Resurrection Sunday

Happy Resurrection Sunday to you all. Today is the day that we celebrate the resurrection of our savior Jesus Christ. Its not about bunnies and baskets but the love of our God to go to the cross and endure a painful death. All the while having insults thrown at him, enduring beatings from the crowd, being stripped and humiliated. He knew full well what he was getting into when he was captured by the Pharisees to be taken to his death but he did it anyway.

He went to the cross and endured the punishment that each and every one of us deserves for our sins. The Lord God is righteousness and the law is a reflection of him so to maintain justice he has to uphold the law. And that's where His death comes in, he suffered in our place, the punishment for every sin we have ever and will ever commit. And when it was over he said it is finished and gave up his spirit. From there he laid dead for 3 days. On the third day he rose from the grave and appeared the many disciples. By being raised from the dead he proved that he had victory over death.

Now we don't have to endure the punishment that Christ did. By accepting Jesus Christ as your savior, asking him to forgive your sins and believing in his death and resurrection you are saved. Glory to God, for he suffered in our place out of his love for us.

"For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die— 8 but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God. 10 For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life. 11 More than that, we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation." Roman's 5:7-11
